The property assessment roll is the inventory of all the buildings situated on the territory of the municipality, evaluated on the same base and on the same date.
This is the basis from which is calculated the property and school taxes.
The assessment roll is valid for 3 years. Some municipalities choose an evaluation every 6 years. This was the case at Lac-des-Seize-Îles. After this time, a new assessment is done.
Certain data from the assessment roll is public and can be perused here. For example:
- Noame of owner
- Postal address
- Characteristics of the land: surface area, dimensions
- Characteristics of the building: stories, year of construction…
- Value at time of assessment roll: land, building
Other confidential data is reserved to real estate professionals (approved evaluators, financial institutions, notaries, etc.).
